33.BI-MU and piùAdditive: additive manufacturing enters series production

piùAdditive, the additive technology show within 33.BI-MU, gathered manufacturers, research centres and start-ups from the whole value chain.

piùAdditive is the exhibition project created by AITA (Associazione Italiana Tecnologie Additive) within the 33.BI-MU fair, dedicated to the entire additive technology value chain. Its aim is to highlight, across sectors, the opportunities additive offers economically, socially and environmentally.

Who exhibits

The protagonists are manufacturing companies, service and research centres, universities and start-ups, with an international offer of machines, materials, software, products, testing solutions and post-processing. Their presence is increasingly visible in the main production sectors: aerospace, automotive, biomedical, oil and gas, and food.

Why it matters to a machining shop

Additive manufacturing does not replace CNC machining — it complements it: near-net-shape blanks, lightweight fixtures, spare parts produced quickly. In practice, a metal printed part almost always needs finishing on a machining centre, and that remains where machine performance determines final accuracy.

Visiting and the digital exhibition

Admission was free with online pre-registration, which also granted access to Xylexpo, the international woodworking technology biennial held in parallel. 33.BI-MU also had a digital twin — 33.BI-MU EXPOPLAZA — designed to complete the visitor experience.
