CMZ is a Spanish CNC lathe builder that bet on a single idea and followed it through: get rid of the belts. Spindles, counter-spindles and turrets all have integrated, oil-cooled motors, which means higher acceleration, less vibration, lower noise and thermal stability that belt drives cannot match. Turrets index in 0.15–0.2 seconds, and bi-directional laser compensation on all axes, including the C axis, is standard. The current range has five lathe families — TA and TD with a single turret, TTS and TTL with multiple turrets and twin spindles — plus CMZ's own gantry robots for automation. The control is Fanuc across the range.
